Celtic’s plan to make it to next season’s Champions League was crushed after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Hungarian side Ferencvárosi TC in the qualifiers on Wednesday.

Ryan Christie’s second half goal cancelled Dávid Sigér’s opener, but Tokmac Nguen’s 75th minute effort proved to be the difference between the two sides at Celtic Park.

The Hoops’ failure to make it to Europe’s top tier club competition could see some of their star players head towards the exit door.

Reports in the British press have suggested the possibility of the Scottish champions losing Christie, Kristoffer Ajer, Olivier Ntcham and Leigh Griffiths in the ongoing window.

These claims have been relayed by Foot Mercato and they also provide further information about Ntcham.

According to the website, the Frenchman has so far not received any concrete offer to change clubs.

It’s claimed, according to their own information, the 24-year-old will consider leaving Neil Lennon’s side if a club comes forward with a ‘good project and a concrete offer’.

The player has two more years left on his contract and Foot Mercato state Celtic will have hard time resisting, if they receive a proposal.

Ntcham finished the last season with eight goals and four assists in 38 appearances.
