Celtic are ‘particularly fond’ of Rodez striker Taïryk Arconte but could face competition from Millwall for his signature.

The website explains that Taïryk Arconte was the ‘true spearhead’ of Rodez’s attack this season, playing a major role in what became a magnificent campaign. They finished fifth in Ligue 2 and secured a place in the promotion playoffs.
With 14 goals and three assists to his name, he established himself as one of the ‘undeniable revelations’ of the Ligue 2 season. And his performances have not gone unnoticed.
Valued at around €3m, Arconte is a target for newly promoted Auxerre in France. They’re ready to give him a taste of football in Ligue 1.
But they know that there’s competition for the deal. Celtic are ‘particularly fond’ of Arconte’s ‘explosive style’. Championship side Millwall are also watching his development closely.
The feeling is that a potential saga could be on the cards, and it is only just beginning. Celtic, Millwall and Auxerre could all be ready to do battle for him over the summer transfer window.
Celtic or Millwall?
The decision may rest with the player himself. Which would he prefer, a shot at Ligue 1, a move to the Championship, or to Scotland with the new Scottish champions?
The latter two arguably offer him better prospects of heading to the Premier League. Indeed, Celtic have a long history of developing strikers in the Scottish Premiership before selling them for big money to England’s top flight.
Millwall don’t have that but did finish third in the Championship last season before losing in the play-offs. They will be among the favourites for promotion to the top flight next season as a result.
For now, both sides appear to just be watching and considering a move. But the striker is on their list, nonetheless.
