Celtic will need to move quickly to secure Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic with Feyenoord pushing to get a deal done.

That’s according to De Telegraaf, who cover the situation around the youngster today after reported interest from Celtic in him.

Claims earlier this week made it clear the Scottish giants were keen on a move for the young centre-back as they look to bolster their squad this summer for Ange Postecoglou.

However, it was made clear at the time that they faced a fight to get their man, with it felt Feyenoord were leading the race.

De Telegraaf back this up somewhat and say that the Dutch side are ‘really serious’ about bringing him to the club.

That interest has been bolstered by the player having ‘indicated’ that he ‘would like’ to move to De Kuip as well and would prefer that move instead of the one to Parkhead.

The feeling at Feyenoord is that he ‘fits in perfectly’ with what they want, particularly as the club’s new policy is to sign young players to ‘create capital’ rather than hire older players from other clubs.

19-year-old Vuskovic fits that idea, and it seems they will be able to get their man, despite the interest from Celtic and others.
