Celtic have shown interest in bringing Rodez AF’s Taïryk Arconte to Celtic Park. Martin O’Neill’s side have faced competition from other clubs, including Millwall.

On June 5th, Sport Witness covered claims from France of both Celtic and Millwall’s interest in the 22-year-old.

Five days later, we relayed news of O’Neill’s side accelerating their efforts to reach an agreement. They held talks with his agent, to get ahead of FC Lorient and KRC Genk.

The Scottish champions are in for a disappointment in their pursuit of the winger.

Arconte picks Millwall over Celtic and others

Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a short but an important update on Taïryk Arconte.

Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre have also shown interest in the player desired by Martin O’Neill’s side.

However, the Rodez star has decided to pick the Championship side over Celtic, Auxerre and others.

Denis doesn’t mention what convinced the Guadeloupe international and only claims he ‘will sign for Millwall’. This will be a permanent transfer as the Ligue 2 side will collect €3m from Alex Neil’s side.

Le Parisien also state Arconte is on his way to The Den, after reaching an agreement with the Lions. The London club are paying around €3m for his signature.

The newspaper claims the attacker arrived in the UK on Monday and has started his medical examinations. It won’t be long before Millwall confirm his signing.
