There are reports in the Turkish media that Celtic are interested in signing Besiktas defender Daniel Amartey this summer.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be looking to strengthen during the transfer window as the Scottish Premiership champions look to fight on four fronts.
Fanatik have claimed Amartey is a target for Celtic ahead of next season and they could take advantage of his situation at Besiktas. The central defender came in for criticism for his performances last season in a forgettable campaign for the Super Lig side, and subsequently he could be looking for a move.
It’s claimed Celtic are lining up an offer of €4m for the 29-year-old, but there are no reports of any transfer talks taking place between the two clubs. With Champions League participation secured for Rodgers’ side, the experienced defender could be a useful addition to his squad.
Amartey made 27 appearances last season for the Black Eagles, scoring one goal. The Ghanian international is contracted to the Istanbul club until June 2026.
