Florian Grillitsch has admitted Braga were left pleased by keeping Celtic fans quiet in their recent -2-0 win over Brendan Rodgers’ side.

O Jogo cover comments from the midfielder in which he discusses their 2-0 win over Celtic at Celtic Park this week.

They secured all three points away from home on match-day two of the Europa League, with goals from Ricardo Horta and Gabri Martinez securing victory at Celtic Park

It was a deserved result for the Portuguese side, who had 13 shots compared to Celtic’s nine and six shots on target compared to three from Brendan Rodger’s side

Grillitsch was one of the changes that manager Carlos Vicens make for the game, which proved to be the right ones. They became the first Portuguese team to win at Celtic Park, ever.

The Austrian midfielder was a key part of that, putting in a strong performance ‘full of personality’ according to the newspaper. More importantly they, as a team, showed an improved display from the one which lost to Nacional in disappointing circumstances last weekend.

Grillitsch was certainly pleased, particularly with the manner in which they managed to keep Celtic’s fans quiet.

“Of course, it was a very important victory because the last game wasn’t good for us, and we wanted to show a different side,” he said.

“It’s not easy to play at Celtic Park, against a great team, but we did very well. The Celtic fans were quiet. It means we played a good game.

“We created good opportunities, and their fans were a bit quiet. This means we played a good game, away from home, we beat a great team and didn’t concede a goal. We achieved our goal, and we can’t ask for more.”
