Loaned out from Paris Saint-Germain to Celtic for the past season, Odsonne Edouard ended up impressing Brendan Rodgers enough to try and make the deal permanent.

According to the reliable Paris United on Twitter, that process is now well on its way, with the young French forward expected to be transferred to Celtic Park for a fee of around €10m.

Paris Saint-Germain’s director of football, Antero Henrique, is said to have returned from Qatar recently to try and get the deal over the line.

Rodgers, who was one of the names mentioned to replace Arsène Wenger at Arsenal before Unai Emery was announced, had allegedly told Edouard that he would take him to the Emirates with him should he have been chosen by the Gunners.

The 20-year-old made 29 appearances for Celtic last season in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and picking up four assists.
