Southampton and Celtic are among the clubs chasing Brighton & Hove Albion’s Facundo Buonanotte this summer.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who state Southampton and Celtic have received encouragement in their pursuit of the 19-year-old.
Feyenoord have shown interest in the attacking midfielder, and claims from the Dutch press reported last week that they have agreed a deal with Brighton.
On Monday, 1908.nl stated Southampton have joined the tussle to sign the youngster, who has to make a decision between the Saints and the Eredivisie side this week. Celtic have now been added to the mix.
AD claim Buonanotte has been on the Dutch club’s radar for the past few weeks. It’s claimed Feyenoord have ‘put an end’ to their chase because they couldn’t complete the loan signing of the Argentina international.
There’s no mention of the reason why Feyenoord couldn’t sign him, but they have decided to look at other options in the market. This will please Celtic and ‘especially Southampton’ as these two clubs have been trying to secure Buonanotte’s services.
The Brighton player is expected to continue in the United Kingdom, meaning he could join Celtic, Southampton or another British club, likely on loan, in this window.
