Oh Hyeon-gyu is about to leave Celtic, according to claims on Friday afternoon.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that KRC Genk are now ‘closing the deal’ with the Scottish side for the transfer.
It’s claimed that Oh Hyeon-gyu’s departure from Celtic is now a ‘matter of time’, even though there are not any details on how much it will cost.
Genk had been in talks for a long time, and a month ago Tavolieri had already reported the talks.
Back then, it had been claimed that the Belgian side had a deal with the player, and they wanted to find a deal with Celtic for €5m plus bonuses.
It now remains to be seen if that’s how much Genk are paying for the signing, or if the Glasgow side managed to bring that price up. That’s something Tavolieri himself should reveal in the coming days.
Either way, this seems to be the end of Oh Hyeon-gyu’s time with Celtic, who he joined in January 2023. He’s now set to leave the club with 12 goals in 47 appearances.
