Over the past few days, claims from the UK stated that Celtic are interested in Benjamin Nygren. It was even reported Brendan Rodgers’ side have received permission from FC Nordsjælland to hold talks with him.

As well as the Scottish champions, other clubs, including Anderlecht have looked at the 23-year-old.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that Anderlecht consider the winger is on his way to Celtic.

The Jupiler Pro League club have held talks with Nygren’s representatives and found out that he favours Brendan Rodgers’ side. Therefore, Tavolieri indicated he’s expected to complete a move to Celtic Park this summer.

Expressen back up Tavolieri’s claim and provide more on Celtic’s ongoing pursuit of the Sweden international. They relay claims from the British press about the Scottish club trying to work out a deal worth around SEK 25m [€2.3m].

According to Expressen, Celtic are the ‘favourite’ to secure the attacker’s services, and the parties are ‘close to an agreement’. The outlet makes no mention of the fee the Danish club will collect.

Nygren managed 16 goals and four assists from 32 games for Nordsjælland this season.
