Chievo Verona defender Fabrizio Cacciatore has commenced on contract extension talks with the Serie A side. The left back has been impressive for Cheivo in the past 12 months, and was linked with a move to Leeds United earlier in the year.
TMW have revealed work is in progress between the representatives of Cacciatore and Chievo to extend his contract beyond 2018. Chievo are keen to tie down the defender for another season after his current deal expires, as they see him as the future of the club in his position.
The 29-year-old has carried on with his form from last season, and there have been calls for him to be called up the Italy national team.
During the January window Cacciatore was linked with a move to Leeds United after Cellino travelled to Italy to get a lowdown on the defender.
This was then followed by one of Leeds United’s scouts attending the game between Chievo and Lazio that same month. Serie A sides Lazio and Fiorentina have also been monitoring his situation.
The interest from other clubs will surely help Cacciatore get a nice big new contract
