Gaetano Berardi spent seven years at Leeds United before leaving Elland Road as a free agent in 2021.
The Whites signed the now 35-year-old from Sampdoria in the summer of 2014, just months after Massimo Cellino took control of the club. The latter was the owner of the English side from 2014 to 2017.
Cellino currently owns Brescia and is thinking of bringing the former Leeds man to the Italian club, according to Bresciaingol.
Berardi announced his retirement back in May and could start a new career as a coach at Brescia.
During his playing career, the defender came up through the ranks of the Italian club’s academy and spent five years with their first team before joining Sampdoria in 2012.
It’s claimed Cellino, who knows Berardi from his time at Leeds, wants to offer him a new role with the youth team. Bresciaingol have made it clear he would be an assistant to Luca Belingheri.
During his time at Leeds, Berardi scored two goals and registered seven assists from 157 appearances and was a fan favourite at Elland Road.
A move to Brescia, this time as a coach, will see him work under Cellino for the second time in his career. At least he already knows what to expect.
