In what is an entertaining battle between two former Leeds United owners, Massimo Cellino is going after Andrea Radrizzani because of some late payments.

We covered the original quotes from the Brescia owner on Thursday, where he threatened to try and seize the most recent Leeds shareholder’s new shares at Sampdoria.

While that seems highly unlikely to succeed, new developments have been reported by Il Secolo XIX, relayed by Club Doria 46, who reveal another reason why Cellino is angry at Radrizzani regarding the money owed from the Elland Road sale.

After the accusation of failing to pay the 2023 annual instalment due from a €9.6m loan made to buy the Leeds stadium, the newspaper reveals this isn’t the first time this dispute has taken place.

It’s explained that it ‘would have already happened in the past that Radrizzani paid the loan instalment late’, and this time around, the lawyers of the Sampdoria owner would have proposed to Cellino a ‘repayment plan’ that would involve the 2023 instalment and ‘future ones’.

This means they are trying to restructure the agreement in their favour, which is said to have ‘angered’ Cellino.

This led the Brescia boss to hold the interview with Gazzetta dello Sport and publicly air his grievances about the Leeds loan.

All in all, it’s a mess that doesn’t directly affect Daniel Farke’s team, but one their fans are enjoying from afar, watching two rather disliked figures squabbling over money.
