Catalan paper say Crystal Palace want Davinson Sanchez, Barca competition, €25m offer to be made

 

Frank De Boer taking over as Crystal Palace manager instantly made the club much likelier to be linked with players from the Eredivisie.

De Boer is Dutch, has played for and managed Ajax, therefore he’d go shopping in the Netherlands… the assumptions were immediate. There’s probably some truth in there and De Boer will be knowledgable about Dutch football, but a lot of links will be made through incorrect assumption.

One of the more exciting ones comes from Catalan newspaper Sport on Tuesday. Davinson Sanchez has long been linked with Barcelona, and now Sport say Crystal Palace are competition.

Sport claim Crystal Palace want to sign the defender, and Ajax are set to receive a €25m offer. Ajax would like to keep Sanchez for a further season, explain Sport, but the player himself is tempted by a move to the Premier League.

The 21 year old Colombian is highly rated as a defensive prospect, hence the Barcelona links, but it’s unclear how much is really in the Crystal Palace interest.

At least it’s more exciting than Adil Rami.
