History
Founded in 1899 as Riverside A.F.C. by Bartley Wilson to keep cricket players active in winter, Cardiff City adopted its current name in 1908. The “Bluebirds” joined the Football League in 1920, famously winning the FA Cup in 1927 the only time the trophy has left England. Ninian Park was their home from 1910 until moving to Cardiff City Stadium in 2009.
