There’s a claim from Germany that Cardiff City defender Jesper Daland is on the verge of signing for Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The Norwegian has been linked with the German side in recent weeks as they look to add to their squad in the final days of this window.

Dominik Schneider today reports on the latest developments with Fortuna Düsseldorf’s pursuit for the Cardiff City player, and claims the central defender will be joining them on loan for the season.

It’s also reported an option to purchase has been included in the agreement between the two clubs.

The journalist goes on to report Daland is currently undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed move to the Rhine club.

Daland only signed for the Cardiff City last summer after arriving from Belgian side Cercle Brugge. The Norwegian went on to make 22 appearances in his debut season, but with relegation to League One his future with the Welsh side has become uncertain.

He’s contracted to the Bluebirds until June 2028.
