Cardiff City nearly had a late signing on deadline day, according to reports from the Spanish press.
Newspaper Diário de Sevilla reports that the Welsh side made an attempt to sign Loren Morón from Real Betis.
Cardiff City made a bid of €9m to sign the 25-year-old, and from Betis’ point of view, it was enough to take the player to the Championship.
The problem was that Morón himself didn’t accept the move. The outlet writes that the striker ‘didn’t feel seduced’ by the transfer, and ended up turning it down.
Morón is said to be living a living a strange situation at Bétis, because the club are not really keen on keeping him. He’s not having a great pre-season and the arrival of Borja Iglesias could mean he’s sidelined for most of the season.
Still, Morón not only turned down Cardiff, but other clubs as well. So he’s not really concerned about what Betis think of his future.
