Everton could be given another shot at Ajax star Mohamed Kudus in January, as Ajax is starting to become “too little for him.”
That’s according to his Ghana teammate Iñaki Williams, who believes the player will be on the move before too long.
Kudus has been impressing for Ajax this season, shining in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League after a summer of being linked with a move away.
Everton were one of his suitors, with his agent even going as far as to brief English journalists that a deal was close, despite that not being the case.
They’ve continued to be linked with a potential move since and Kudus has even admitted he was close to making the move after talking with Frank Lampard about the project at Goodison Park.
They appeared to be slipping into the distance, though, as Kudus started to shine at the World Cup and earn himself even more admirers around Europe.
Whether then, Everton would have a chance given their current situation is up for debate, but Williams is convinced a transfer will be on the cards regardless.
“I knew him before I joined Ghana. I had heard about him and seen his goals,” he told Radio Marca, relayed by Voetbal International.
“When I played with him the other day, he already surprised me immensely. Whenever my teammates at Athletic Club asked if anyone had impressed me, I always talked about him.
“I think Ajax is starting to become too little for him. Hopefully he will make the jump to a big club soon.
“I would have liked him to have had a Basque family member to be able to bring him to Bilbao, because he is a bomb, he is a machine. He is very complete and with his young age he can still improve a lot.
“Yes, I can see him playing at a big club. He has a lot of potential and a big margin for improvement. His ceiling is not yet in sight. I think he can be a revelation in the foreseeable future.”
