Kristoffer Ajer’s importance at Celtic continues to grow as the centre-back has become a vital figure in the Hoops’ defence.

He signed a new contract with the Scottish champions in May 2018 and the 21-year-old’s current deal is until 2022. Despite the duration left on his contract, the Norway international has been regularly linked with a move away from Celtic Park.

Earlier this month, Ajer’s agent Tore Pedersen suggested his client will leave the Bhoys in the summer.

Since then, Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their interest in him and there’s been suggestions of the player being included in AC Milan’s plans for the next transfer window, if Ralf Rangnick ends up at the San Siro.

It’s not the first time that Ajer has been linked with the Serie A side as TuttoMercatoWeb reported last August the central defender could be a good investment for Milan.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport talks about Ajer being viewed as one of the options to strengthen Milan’s defence for next season. The newspaper explains it would cost the Rossoneri around €30m to sign him.

Another Italian outlet Calciomercato also talks about the transfer fee and states Celtic will demand €30m to sanction his sale.

There’s belief a potential transfer can be concluded after his agent’s comments opened the door for a move. Ajer ‘teases and can become an opportunity’ for Milan.

It’s to be noted that both reports state Ajer isn’t the main centre-back target for Milan.
