Inter Milan are looking to add a central defender to their squad before the close of the transfer window.

It’s unlikely to result in a huge money purchase, and Inter are searching around Europe for market opportunities, ways of signing an excellent player that won’t break the FFP bank.

Understandably, one of the names to have come to Inter’s table is Andreas Christensen. The Chelsea central defender returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after a two year loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Christensen, 21 years of age, was considered to be one of the best young defenders in the Bundesliga, and he’s all Chelsea’s.

There have been worries among some fans that Christensen could soon be going out the exit door again, but a claim from Gazzetta dello Sport suggests not.

Inter have ‘called for information’ over a Christensen transfer, and Chelsea were quite forthright: The Premier League champions are simply not considering letting their Danish defender leave.

Maybe this can be one Chelsea youngster who goes on to have a meaningful career at the club.
