Yesterday, when all that seemed missing was the announcement, Jens Cajuste’s move from Napoli to Brentford collapsed. The Premier League club were said to have backed out of the deal at the last minute, with no explanation given at that stage.

He was set to move on loan with an obligation to buy, so a deferred purchase, and had even carried out his medical tests with Brentford.

There was then talk of interest from another Premier League side, although the name of the club wasn’t mentioned. It would appear that was Ipswich Town, and the 25-year-old’s move to the newly promoted side is ‘close to completion’ reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio now says Cajuste failed his medical with Brentford, and that’s why the deal collapsed.

Perhaps because of medical concerns, Ipswich Town are signing the Napoli player on a dry loan deal, with no buying option or obligation at the end of that loan spell.

Hopefully he can get through the medical for this one.
