Two months ago, Burnley appointed Vincent Kompany as their permanent manager with the hope he can guide them back to the Premier League.

The Belgian arrived at Turf Moor after spending two seasons at Anderlecht. It was no surprise to see him look at the league in his home country to strengthen the Clarets’ squad.

Burnley have already signed four players from the Jupiler Pro League and continue to look there for a new centre-back.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to state the Championship side are trying to sign Sint-Truidense’s Ameen Al-Dakhil. The 20-year-old has not missed a single minute in the league this term, after featuring 22 times in the last campaign.

The defender is considered to have a ‘high potential level’ and Burnley’s latest offer for him is around €4m. This won’t be enough to convince the Belgian club as the journalist states they are asking for €5m to part ways with Al-Dakhil.

Tavolieri doesn’t make it clear whether Kompany’s side will return with an improved offer to take the centre-back away from Sint-Truidense.
