Burnley intend to bring former Manchester City youngster Carlos Forbs back to England in the winter market.
Last summer, the 19-year-old arrived at Ajax, after spending eight years at Manchester City’s academy. He left the Citizens without making an appearance for the senior team.
The winger has scored two goals and registered four assists from 25 games this season, and that includes only six league starts. He’s attracting interest, and Burnley are one of the clubs in the picture to sign him.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who state the Clarets have shown interest in the Portugal U21 international.
It’s explained that Vincent Kompany’s side have been in discussions with the Dutch club, who are ready to listen to offers for the attacker. His current deal lasts until 2028.
The Eredivisie side paid €14m to Manchester City and the outlet makes no mention of the fee needed to take Forbs away from Ajax.
Burnley have to persuade the former Manchester City player to join them this month. VI say he wants to continue at the Amsterdam club, and therefore talks between the two clubs are currently at a ‘standstill’, even though Ajax are ready to let go.
