With Burnley now fully back in the Premier League next season, Vincent Kompany will spend the summer trying to bolster his squad.
The Clarets’ main aim will be to avoid a direct return to the Championship, and they will need to score goals to do so, which is why targeting someone who has scored 20 this season makes sense.
This comes from French journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who claims that Burnley are keen on Georges Mikautadze, who currently plays for FC Metz in Ligue 2.
He’s one of the reasons why they are still in with a chance to be promoted back to Ligue 1, and his goals have caught the attention of Kompany’s side.
It’s said Burnley have a ‘strong interest’ in the Georgia international, and the Belgian manager is ‘particularly appreciative’ of what the 22-year-old has to offer.
There’s no mention of a price, but with the promoted side likely to have a nice chunk of money to spend this summer, this shouldn’t be a difficult one to pull off for the Clarets if they set their mind to it.
#Mercato #FCM
