Borussia Mönchengladbach are yet to confirm Burnley FC have a purchase clause for Jordan Beyer and could bring him back to Germany in the summer as a result.
The 22-year-old joined Burnley on loan in the summer, joining as part of Vincent Kompany’s rebuild following his own arrival at Turf Moor.
He’s been a regular this season, making eight appearances in the Championship and starting seven of the nine games he’s been a part of.
He has very much impressed, so much so that Burnley are likely to try and sign him on a permanent basis come the end of the season.
Reports in England have claimed that they have a purchase clause to do so, however, according to RP Online, ‘this has not been confirmed by Borussia.’
The allure of playing in the Premier League, should Burnley be promoted, and continuing to work under Vincent Kompany could be strong factors for Beyer to stay but as yet the German club haven’t admitted to a clause existing.
In the meantime, they are keeping an eye on Beyer’s development and believe he ‘could be an option to generate income’ instead.
Should Burnley or another English club express interest they’d be more than happy to sell, otherwise they’d welcome Beyer back with open arms as it’s guaranteed he’ll return ‘from England stronger’.
Given his success at Turf Moor so far ‘it cannot be ruled out’ that the player does return and his stay with the Clarets is limited to one year.
