According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are lhoping to close in on Burnley midfielder Sander Berge.
The Norway international has been linked with a move to the Super Lig giants in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in a central midfielder this summer.
Sabah have reported on the latest developments regarding Fenerbahce’s pursuit for the Burnley player and they say the club have offered to double the salary he’s currently earning at Turf Moor. Berge has reportedly agreed to the Turkish side’s offer.
However, negotiations are ongoing with Burnley as they look to get an agreement over Berge’s transfer fee. The Championship side are reportedly holding out for €25m, whilst Fener are only willing to offer €15m.
Sabah say if they fail to convince Burnley to sell for a fee in this region then they will look at alternatives to the Norwegian. Fenerbahce are said to be keen to announce the signing of a central midfielder this week.
Berge made 40 appearances last season for Burnley, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the east Lancashire club until June 2027.
