Earlier to today we covered claims from the Belgian media that Burnley forward Andreas Hountondji was being followed by Standard Liege and Antwerp.
The two Jupiler League sides were looking to loan the 22-year-old for the remainder of the season and that they were in transfer talks to land the Burnley man.
Hountondji himself was said to be keen on a move away from Turf Moor this month after finding his chances limited under Scott Parker. The attacker only arrived from Caen in the summer window but has made just two starts in the Championship.
Journlist Sacha Tavolieri has reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Hountondji and he says the forward has agreed a move to Standard Liege. The Belgian side only want to loan the player for six months, with no obligation to purchase in the summer.
However, Standard Liege aren’t prepared to cover Hountondji’s entire salary, something Burnley are demanding from the Belgian giants.
It’s expected negotiations will continue between the two clubs with regards to his wages, but Burnley are aware there are clubs in France, and others in Belgium, who are prepared to cover his full salary.
