Burnley midfielder Han-Noah Massengo is waiting for AJ Auxerre to activate a purchase clause in his loan deal at the club and sign him permanently.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that the French side are yet to make a decision on the clause that they have for the midfielder.

Massengo has been on loan with Auxerre since the January transfer window, when it was made clear he was not a part of Burnley’s plans for the rest of the season.

That loan deal includes an option for them to make it permanent for €3m but they are yet to decide on whether to activate it. Massengo has been a regular for Auxerre since his arrival, with 17 appearances in Ligue 1. He hasn’t scored or assisted in them.

It’s his second spell at the club after previously joining them on loan from Bristol City and it seems they’re yet to decide whether to buy him permanently.

It’s a situation to keep a close eye on moving forwards, with the midfielder seemingly not in Burnley’s plans either and them perhaps waiting for Auxerre before deciding on what to do this summer.
