The midfielder’s contract with the Ligue 1 side is set to expire at the end of the season, and now is a prime time for clubs to buy him for cheap as a January reinforcement.
That’s what Burnley have in mind, according to Foot Mercato, who explain that Marseille are having to deal with ‘incessant approaches’ from the Clarets for 24-year-old.
His contract situation plays in Burnley’s favour, and Marseille know that now is the best time for them to sell to at least get some money for a player who doesn’t appear overly keen on staying.
Since joining the southern French club, Gueye has made 103 appearances for them in all competitions, scored four goals and assisted another three.
