Burnley are yet to agree a compensation package with Bayern Munich for Vincent Kompany and feel betrayed by how matters have developed in the last few days.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reports that Burnley are still working on a compensation package with the German giants.
Kompany has emerged as the surprise leading candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich over the last week or so, with the Germans seemingly turning to him after exhausting a long list of other possible appointments.
Kompany is keen on the move, as you might expect, but Burnley have so far resisted Bayern’s attempts to pluck their manager from Turf Moor.
That’s because, according to Tavolieri, they feel ‘betrayed’ by how matters have transpired and have insisted that ‘no gift will be done’ when it comes to the Belgian manager.
In other words, they want a top price for their manager and according to Tavolieri that means a deal worth more than €15m will have to be agreed. Bayern are confident of striking an agreement with Burnley, though.
Kompany, for his part, is waiting for the green light, has already agreed on a three-year deal with Max Eberl and is now waiting for Burnley to accept his exit.
