Burnley are ‘getting closer’ to signing STVV defender Ameen Al-Dakhil, with the player on his way to Turf Moor for a medical.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says an agreement has been found between Burnley and STVV over the youngster.
Burnley have been linked with Al-Dakhil since the summer when they made several bids to try and bring him to England.
That pursuit failed but their interest has not gone away, and several reports have made it clear that Vincent Kompany would try and sign him for Burnley this month.
A report last week stated that the defender was ‘quietly on the brink’ of the move to Burnley and was quickly followed by claims that he was playing his last game and a deal was basically done.
Tavolieri follows that up today by saying a move to Burnley is ‘getting closer’ after the two sides found an agreement for a transfer.
The player left Belgium this morning and is now on his way to England to undergo a medical ahead of completing his move.
That would suggest negotiations are now concluded and a deal is in place for Kompany to finally get a signing he’s been chasing for months.
