Burnley, Fulham and West Ham may need to work hard to convince Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker on a move, with him more than happy in Germany.
That’s according to BILD, who say that while the forward is ‘planning his departure’, it does not mean it is guaranteed this summer.
A report from Germany yesterday made it clear the Premier League trio were all eyeing a move for Becker, with it explained that a move was likely in the summer.
BILD pick up on that and explain that talks of a move away in the summer are being fuelled by Becker recently changing agents, swapping from the Sports eXcellence Group, who represented him for years, to Sports360.
It is now they are who are planning his future, which ‘could be in England’, where they already represent Fabian Schär at Newcastle.
Burnley, Fulham and West Ham have already been linked with a move for the player.
There have been rumours of a change for Becker for three years, particularly as he could collect ‘more than twice’ his current €1.5m a year wages in the Premier League.
The fact he is valued at around €15m also makes him affordable, with Burnley, Fulham and West Ham all more than capable of paying that figure.
The big issue for them, though, might be convincing the player, even if they offer to more than double his current wages.
That’s because Becker is more than comfortable where he is in Berlin, something he has spoken about publicly, and BILD say that ‘feeling of well-being’ could persuade him to stay.
They explain that he knows what his family has in Berlin and what he has personally at Union, where he is an undisputed starter. In fact, he is the only player to play in all 46 games so far, 45 of those in the starting 11, and he could feature in the Champions League next season to boot.
That is something he has to take into consideration before making a move, although he wouldn’t be the first Union to player to ‘opt for the money’ instead.
