France Football make it very clear on Friday evening that they expect Burnley to beat West Brom and Brighton & Hove Albion to Majeed Waris.

The 25 year old forward currently plays for Lorient and would be able to add an injection of pace to whichever club he joins, making him different to Burnley’s latest signing Chris Wood.

A couple of days ago Ouest-France reported that Burnley, Watford and Birmingham City had all made offers for the Lorient player, with each offer said to be over €10m.

West Brom and Brighton have now been brought into the picture and it’s very clear that someone in France wants it known that Waris is attracting a lot of interest.

France Football believe a move to Burnley could be sorted out very quickly, and no offers are mentioned from other clubs, West Brom and Brighton are keen but are currently behind Burnley.

Crystal Palace are credited with having interest last year, but there’s no suggestion they’ve returned.
