There’s a big hunt on for the signing of RWD Molenbeek youngster Ilay Camara, according to claims from Belgium.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reveals that Burnley, Coventry City and Preston North End are all ‘very interested’ in the 21-year-old.
Camara, who comes from Anderlecht’s academy, joined RWDM last summer, and had a very positive season for them, with three goals and seven assists in 31 appearances.
The youngster is mostly a right-back, but also played as a midfielder and winger during the season. That saw his versatility being proven, and will surely have helped attract interest.
Burnley, Coventry City and Preston North End are not alone in the race, though, with Tavolieri claiming that Stade de Reims also have Camara as an ‘option’ for the summer.
The story doesn’t make very clear what the player’s situation is at RWDM, though, whether they’re really thinking about selling him or if they’d rather keep him for longer.
Camara is valued by Transfermarkt at just €1.5m, and it remains to be seen how much the Belgium side would take for his sale. That’s something Burnley, Coventry City and Preston North End will need to find out.
