Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has some news for Burnley on Monday evening, just a few hours before the transfer window closes for the Championship club.

De Telegraaf report that Ajax are in the processing of finalising the transfer of Jaydon Banel to the Clarets, in what sounds like a permanent transfer.

Banel is a 20-year-old forward who hasn’t really made the breakthrough from Jong Ajax to the club’s senior team, and the Eredivisie side clearly feel they’re best served by parting ways.

He’s represented the Netherlands at U18, U19 and U20 levels, and this season has made three senior appearances. In addition to that he’s played 15 league for Jong Ajax in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie in this campaign, scoring three goals and adding an assist along the way.

According to De Telegraaf, Burnley will pay €1m for Banel, and Ajax have managed to negotiate a percentage of a future transfer fee.

The paperwork is currently being managed by the legal team involved, with the aim to get everything done before the deadline passes.
