When Leroy Sane moved to Manchester City in the summer for a big fee from Schalke, it was the end of a transfer saga which had been going on for months. Sane had been repeatedly linked with a big move to the Premier League, and he’s now continuing to settle in after getting the transfer.
Max Meyer is a few months older than 21 year old Sane, and has too been the subject of many transfer rumours, although not quite as strongly as his former Schalke colleague.
The attacking midfielder is already a full Germany international and as he continues to progress, the links will surely grow.
Bild asked the footballer about Sane’s move to Manchester City: ‘Leroy Sane has made the big jump to an absolute top club. Was that right? And what is your future wish?’
Meyer was completely honest, and replied: “That’s the dream of everyone, eventually playing for maybe an even bigger club in the Champions League and for titles. Leroy dared to take this step early, but he will certainly be able to do it in the long run. ”
Schalke fans may not be thrilled with Meyer’s comments and could worry that another youngster could be at least glancing toward a possible exit, but the playmaker doesn’t seem in a hurry to leave just yet.
