Liverpool are among the clubs considering Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nnamdi Collins ahead of the summer window.
The centre-back’s rise at the Bundesliga side has seen a few clubs, including Liverpool, take notice.
Collins left Borussia Dortmund for Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2023 and only started to feature regularly since November 2024.
The defender played 63 matches of which 26 were in the heart of defence and 22 at right-back. Those figures include 29 matches in all competitions from this season.
Collins averages 1.1 interceptions, 2.2 tackles and 2.3 ball recovery per game in the top flight in Germany. The 22-year-old also makes 2.3 clearances and wins 4.4 dules.
Liverpool already scouted Collins
The Germany international recently changed agents and is now represented by Moussa Sissoko.
Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that his new agent could take him to Liverpool. The Reds have recently sent their scouts to take a closer look.
Collins recently said he’s unaware of claims of the Reds, Newcastle United and Manchester United wanting him.
Kicker relay fresh comments from him about a potential summer transfer due to change of agents.
“I’m just as clueless as you guys. What you read in the media is new to me too. I always have to chuckle a bit. My full focus is on Eintracht. We want to continue climbing the table, so it would be unprofessional to think about other clubs right now,” he said.
Kicker then provides their own take on where he could end up, if Collins were to leave his current club.
The German could move to England considering he’s a Premier League and a Liverpool. He revealed this during an earlier interview with Kicker in September and it’s relayed again now.
“I’m incredibly happy in Frankfurt, but I also think the Premier League is fantastic, especially Liverpool. You should always set yourself high goals; that’s why we all started playing football,” Collins explained.
This is a hint of him wanting to join the Reds at some stage in the future. Kicker insists it won’t be a surprise if he moves to England in the summer.
Collins’ contract and value
Transfermarkt now value him at €15m, dropped by €3m from October. However, his club will demand a fee much higher than that to sanction a sale.
In December 2024, he extended his contract until 2030 and this puts Eintracht Frankfurt in a comfortable position during negotiations.
Last summer, Liverpool signed Hugo Ekitiké from the German club and could use that connection to try and sign Collins. The Reds, however, should be willing to spend way more than €15m to secure his services.
