The recent links between Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix and Crystal Palace are today fuelled by some comments from the player.
German outlet Kicker is the one featuring a story about the 24-year-old, pointing out he might be playing his final matches for the Bundesliga side.
Given the transfer links, Lacroix was asked to speak about Crystal Palace coach Oliver Glasner, who previously managed him at Wolfsburg.
The defender then revealed that he was in touch with the Eagles boss’ not long ago, even though their conversation may not have been about a transfer to Selhurst Park.
“After the game against Liverpool. Winning there is not that easy,” he said.
When asked about a potential move in the summer, Lacroix insists he’s completely focused on the end of the season with Wolfsburg for now, as he wants to help the team escape relegation.
“This is not the time to talk about it. I can’t say on the one hand that I want to be a leader and then publicly deal with things like that on the other. Otherwise I’m not 100% committed.”
Crystal Palace are just one of the many Premier League clubs who’ve been linked to Lacroix lately, so we’ll see whether the Eagles will have the power to compete for the signing. The player’s relationship with Glasner could definitely be a factor for them to be a priority over other competitors.
