Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been interviewed by DAZN Brasil this week.
The midfielder talked about his great few weeks with the Red Devils, and the feeling of joining a club who he’s always dreamed of playing for.
“My dream club has always been Manchester,” Bruno Fernandes told DAZN. “As I mentioned, I followed in Cristiano’s footsteps, I saw Cristiano grow up here, I saw Cristiano become big here, and become the best in the world, and obviously I followed the whole team they had. The achievements they had, Premier League, Champions League and everything.”
Despite joining Manchester United a month ago, Bruno has been having a lot of influence on the team’s midfield. He claims it feels natural for him to try to advise his teammates about their positioning on the pitch.
“It’s a little bit of my way. I have this way of trying to help, trying to understand where the best spaces are, trying to tell my teammates where to look for the ball, where I can find them too, how we can try to score goals, create spaces.”
“Not long ago, Matic sent a photo of us two together to mister Jorge Jesus. And he told Matic to ‘take good care of his boy’.”
Asked about Brazilian players he admires, Bruno Fernandes had one specific name in mind.
“The first player I followed, and the first player as a child, because Cristiano Ronaldo appeared when I was older, was Ronaldinho. I think players like Ronaldinho will never appear again. Neymar is an excellent player, and has a great joy to play, and shows enormous quality. But I think that the joy and magic that Ronaldinho had, it’s very unlikely that another player will be able to have it. I think Ronaldinho has won the hearts of all football fans, and I think that today it is impossible for anyone to do that.”
During the interview, it was possible to see Diogo Dalot waiting for Bruno. He was ready to give his Manchester United teammate a lift, and was also carrying a bag with ‘a little pasta’ for the midfielder.
“He’s proving to be a great friend. I stayed at his house for the first few days. He and his family helped a lot to make my adaptation easier. He’s been my taxi and so far he’s helped me a lot.”
