Bruno Fernandes is totally uncomfortable with Sporting’s recent situation, and has been making it very clear lately.

It all started when he broke two doors in the dressing room after being sent off in a league game. Then, audio revealing him telling teammates to ‘f*** off’ since they had ‘no attitude’ was leaked.

The midfielder wasn’t expecting to be recorded in any of the situations, but now, in an interview with UEFA, he’s once again shown his anger with some Sporting players.

“Being captain of Sporting is a huge pride,” Bruno Fernandes told UEFA’s website. “I’m Portuguese and have a sense of the club’s history. I try to pass this on to my teammates, as they often have no idea what club they represent, a club like Sporting. True, it’s been 18 years without winning the league, but the pressure has to be here.”

Although Fernandes couldn’t move to a bigger club in the summer, the rumours about his future won’t stop, as he continues to impress despite Sporting’s poor form.

It’s worth pointing out that Manchester United, who were said to be one of the main pretenders in the summer, have scouted Sporting once again this week, and are clearly aware that Fernandes has scored six goals and made four assists in eight games this season.

“I can’t tell if there’s a secret to scoring so many goals. Last year I had the happiness of scoring many goals, of breaking a record. In the previous year I had already made a very good mark for a midfielder, 16 goals are enough… The game plan made my scoring streak and my offensive work was done closer to the box, and that made me score more goals.

“To be a great player, it takes a lot of sacrifice, a lot of work and a lot of dedication. There are the so-called midfield thinkers, the midfield builders, the transition midfielders, the box-to-box… I’m a midfielder who can make one position, or a more offensive, or more defensive; I like more offensively.”
