According to a claim in the Swedish media, Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Viktor Gyokeres is being followed by Malmo.

The 21 year old is currently on loan with Bundesliga 2 side St Pauli, but a move to his home country is looking very unlikely despite the interest from Malmo.

Fotboll Direkt have reported on the Swedish side’s pursuit of the Brighton player and they say Malmo are showing a strong interest. It’s also reported their sporting director Daniel Andersson is an admirer of Gyokeres, following recent comments he made on the young forward.

However, it’s claimed Brighton have ruled out a loan move back to the Allsvenskan as the Premier League side have no intention to lend him to another club. Fotboll Direkt say even if the English side did loan him out again then it wouldn’t be to a lower level league like that in Sweden.

It’s also claimed Gyokeres isn’t interested in a move back home.

Gyokeres is set to return to Brighton next summer and it’s likely he will then have a decision to make on his future.
