Both Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham United are showing interest in Fiorentina’s Martinez Quarta after his performances for Fiorentina this season.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the defender’s performances have earned him attention from the Premier League.
They explain that with Fiorentina sitting third in the table level on points with Juventus, and with an impressive win over Napoli before the international break, they are a team to watch and as a result several of their players are earning attention.
One of the players who is performing best is Martinez Quarta, who is, according to them, having a ‘perfect season’ so far.
He has been excelling defensively but also as an offensive solution, scoring twice already and fitting into the system being employed by Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano.
The defender’s performances have ‘not gone unnoticed’ and several Premier League teams are keen, chief among them Brighton and West Ham.
At the moment, no official offer have yet been made to the Italian club and it would take an offer of at least €25m to even convince Fiorentina into a sale.
Whether either side would be willing to pay such a figure isn’t mentioned, although Brighton do have money to spare after their summer sales. West Ham spending as much after a similarly priced deal for Konstantinos Mavropanos, who is yet to establish himself under David Moyes, would be strange.
Either way that price is fixed and seen as a clear indication of the player’s performances and growth, which are both on the rise this season.
