Just a week ago, reports claimed that Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford are both interested in Brazilian youngster Kauã Elias.

Fluminense fan site Netflu claimed that Seagulls and Hornets are both keen on signing the 17-year-old.

It turns out that the Brighton and Watford chase gets backed up by a more reliable outlet today, as newspaper O Dia talks about this pursuit.

The outlet features a story pointing out that the youngster has trained in the first team this week and could make it to the squad for the Copa Libertadores match against The Strongest in Bolivia.

It’s then said that following great exhibitions on a European tour with Fluminense’s youth ranks last year, when he scored 16 goals in 16 games, he drew the interest from a few clubs.

Brighton and Watford are two of them, with Barcelona and Porto having also shown interest in his signing.

For now, it doesn’t sound like the Brazilian club have set a price to sell Kauã Elias. He’s protected by a release clause worth over €50m in a contract until 2026. Since he only turns 18 in March next year, he can’t make a move to Europe until then.
