River Plate’s Ian Subiabre has ended up on Brighton & Hove Albion’s agenda, according to a report from South America.
The 18-year-old returned to River Plate’s academy in 2022 and starred for their reserve team, managing seven goals and eight assists from 30 games. He was promoted to their senior team last year and has made four appearances so far.
Subiabre has managed to attract the attention of Brighton and River Noticias report on the Seagulls’ interest.
The Argentina U20 international is wanted by the Premier League club, and they would be willing to secure his services. Fabian Hürzeler’s side aren’t alone as Villarreal are in the picture to sign him.
River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo remains attentive to the developments that could take place around forward’s future.
Over at La Página Millonaria, they state the La Liga club have sent their representatives to take a closer look at the youngster. They would have obtained this information from his camp.
The Yellow Submarine could make an offer for the Brighton target in the next window.
“We can’t rule out that they [Villarreal] will make a formal offer in the middle of the year,” his entourage told La Página Millonaria.
The report adds River Plate will only let Subiabre leave if his $25m clause is activated.
