As Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo today writes about Brighton & Hove Albion’s attempt to sign Borja Iglesias from Real Betis, they pretty much make an analysis of how the Seagulls have been moving in recent transfer windows.
It’s first recalled that the English side tried to buy the striker on a €20m fee, plus bonuses, and that was turned down by the La Liga club.
Estádio Deportivo then comes out to explain that Brighton like to ‘buy cheap and sell expensive’.
That led the club to end up building a very strong squad which is now making an historic campaign in the Premier League.
Most of the story is actually praising the work done by the Seagulls, but it’s a little of judgment that they claim the club made a new attempt to be ‘smarter than other teams’ and tried to ‘take advantage’ of Betis’ delicate financial situation to sign Borja in the final days of the transfer window.
The La Liga club managed to hold the player for now, but there’s a chance he could leave in the summer, and Brighton are said to ‘already have their eye on him’ for a transfer in the future.
