Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard is apparently one of the many players who had a little injury scare just a few days before the World Cup.
According to Belgian journalist Alexandre Braeckman, the winger ‘took a little kick’ and will be out of the national team’s friendly against Egypt on Friday.
There is, however, no big worries regarding Trossard’s participation in the World Cup. It’s claimed that the Brighton player will resume training on Saturday, which probably means he’ll be fit for the upcoming matches.
Belgium play their first game of the tournament on Wednesday, as they face Canada. They later have matches against Morocco and Croatia in Group F.
Featuring for Brighton this season, Trossard has seven goals and three assists in 14 games, and his good form certainly makes him one of the national team’s interesting option in the World Cup.
The winger, however, started on the bench in most of Belgium’s Nation League games this year, so he still must prove he deserves a starting place in their World Cup’s starting line-up.
