Ansu Fati has elected to remain with Brighton and Hove Albion during the international break, to work on his fitness and try to enjoy a strong end to the season.
That’s according to journalist Jordi Cardero, who covers the player today and his efforts to improve his physical fitness.
He explains that while many players who are not on international duty have elected to travel for a period during the break, the Brighton star is not one of them.
Instead, he has decided against returning to Barcelona and has staying with Brighton ‘to get physically fit’, with his family even travelling to England to be with him instead.
The forward is determined to work on his fitness after suffering various issues on loan with the Seagulls this season that have limited his playing time.
The plan is for him to ‘improve physically’, which had been the hope for him at the beginning of the season and the reason he elected to move to the Premier League with Brighton.
That’s not been the case as various issues have held him back once again, although Fati is not unhappy about his loan deal so far.
In fact, those around the player say he is happy with the Seagulls and particularly with Roberto de Zerbi, who has been patient with him since minute one.
Fati is ‘delighted’ with the treatment he’s received from the Italian, who was key to him moving to the club in the first place.
What that means for the summer remains to be seen but Brighton fans can at least be assured Fati is fully committed and determined to get fit and make his mark in the remainder of the season.
