Brighton and Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has insisted he is happy at the club and ‘motivated’ ahead of the World Cup.
The Ecuador youngster has established himself as one of the rising stars in the Premier League in recent months after joining Brighton last year.
He originally went out on loan to Beerschot in Belgium but returned in January of this year and has not looked back since.
He’s since become a key player under Graham Potter and has continued to be a first-team regular under his replacement Roberto De Zerbi.
Caicedo is set to be a part of Ecuador’s squad for the World Cup this winter, where he will also be a key player for his country and their hopes of escaping Group A.
The tournament could be a perfect opportunity for the midfielder to shine, with his country sharing a group alongside Qatar, Senegal and the Netherlands.
It seems he’s only focused on Brighton, though, and has to pinch himself that he’s even ended up there.
“I’m very well. I’m very happy to be playing in Brighton and very motivated because the World Cup is coming up,” he told ESPN.
“Sometimes I lie in bed and think about everything I have achieved in 20 years. I think it’s because of my daily efforts and because I pray a lot.
“I ask God to take me on the right path. I have dedicated myself a lot and my family has been with me to guide me. They have been my strength.”
