Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Leeds United are all named as being keen on Cádiz CF defender Momo Mbaye.
The 24-year-old spent the 2017/18 season with the Spanish side’s B team and then returned to the senior squad when they signed him on a permanent deal in 2019.
Mbaye was promoted to the senior team in January 2021 and went on to make his league debut this season, in Cádiz’s 4-0 defeat to Barcelona. Since then, he has made two more starts in La Liga.
Fichajes.net state the centre-back has ‘burst like a freight train into the first category’ in Spain. This has seen Brighton, Southampton and Leeds United ‘closely following his situation’.
The Senegalese’s performances for Cádiz have ‘aroused the interest of several Premier League clubs’. When naming the ‘interested clubs’, Roberto De Zerbi’s side, the Saints and Leeds are tagged. These clubs have knocked on the La Liga side’s door for the central defender.
Mbaye’s deal expires in 2024. With Brighton, Southampton and the Whites following him, Cádiz are already working to extend his contract, to prevent one of their great promises from leaving the club.
