Brighton and Hove Albion summer signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh has told the Dutch media he leaves AZ with good memories and is positive about his future with the Premier League side.
The Iran international signed for Brighton last month for a transfer fee in the region of £17m.
Speaking to AZ Channel, via Voetbal international, the attacker said: “I spoke with the coach and he would like to use wide players. The people around me are also positive about Brighton. The level of the Premier League is very high.”
He added: “I’ll stop by every time I have time. The feeling I have with this club is very good. I appreciate the great support I always received from the fans. I have always had a good relationship with them and I want to thank the fans from the bottom of my heart for the great support.”
Jahanbakhsh committed himself to Brighton a five year deal just a few weeks ago after impressing for AZ last season. The 24 year old scored 21 goals for AZ in the last campaign, which made him the top scorer at the Dutch club.
It’s normal for top players leaving the Eredivisie to either return to their former club to say goodbye in person or to send a message and thank the fans.
Despite his sadness he’s leaving his former club, Jahanbakhsh is determined to make it in the Premier League and ready for the challenges coming his way.
